KWOC has been the first programming platform I've worked on. It wowed me the first time I heard about it, thanks to my seniors. It is very hard to imagine that such a large number of people can come together and work on a single code and I'm very thankful that I was able to be a part of it.
My contribution in this year's KWOC has been very limited as I didn't have a good knowledge of the programming languages used but I learnt from what I saw and I hope to contribute in a large way next year. I chose to work on a single project as I was caught up in a lot of things in my family and I couldn't spare much time. I was assigned an issue with the use of Markdown and I believe I performed the task in a satisfactory manner.
I have worked on a single project, namely -
About the project-
Keep Clone is a simple Google keep clone which aims to store notes entered by the user. We can either type a note with a keyboard or draw on a note with our mouse or touchscreen. It has a signup option using an email id or we can signin using our Google Account.
He is a great person and a very helpful mentor. I have had the opportunity to meet and discuss about the project to him personally.
I made 2 pull requests in response to Issue #8 in the above project and both were merged-
1. Adding a GIF demo in the readme file.
2. Updating the GIF according to the latest UI of the application.
I added a mere 6 lines and removed 1 in the project. I'm a little disappointed that I couldn't offer more time for the project and I am determined this will be corrected the coming year.
Overall, the experience has been good and the KWOC team deserves a lot of respect for what they have achieved.
